Chitsanza Development Association (CHIDA)

Chitsanza Development Association (CHIDA) is a registered community based organization situated in ward 19 in Nyanga Rural District Council, Manicaland province and currently operates in eight wards focusing on educating communities in order to minimize gender based violence, eradicating poverty through income generating projects,

networking with other stakeholders in strengthening HIV and AIDS programs,to promote sustainable use and control of natural resources for the benefit of communities and to undertake development and civic education to become a model to the rest of the provinces.

The organization also looks at issues to do with climate change as well as gender equity and young people's participation in and for local development.

CHIDA for the past years has been embarking on educating the communities on effects of poor sanitation through water harvesting and sustainable management of water resources for livelihood enhancement. The organization has been also fundraising towards the implementation of projects and sharing information through talk shows, workshops, meetings and campaigns. In addition, the organization also takes part in national events as well as networking with other government departments and funding partners for knowledge and information sharing support services on skills, legal advice sources, financial, health and traditional leaders.

More so, Chitsanza Development Association takes active participation on capacity building workshops, leadership workshops, constitutional formulations, small project management, project planning and management as well as civic education. In addition, Chitsanza Development Association dwells much on value addition and beneficiation, aisles (income saving clubs), housing co-operatives, embracing the ease of doing business in line with the Zimbabwe Agenda for Sustainable Socio-Economic Transformation. These training outreach programs coupled with other developmental activities define the objectives of the organization.
