Young Achievement Sports for Development (YASD) is a capacity development forum for socially ostracized and disadvantaged youths who lack access to basic social services for normal community and human development. YASD aims at empowering youths and transforming communities through sport.
Youth Initiative for Community Empowerment (YICET) is a young organisation that is based and operates in Mutare, Manicaland, Zimbabwe. The organisation was conceived in response to the limited access to valuable information and community development services exists in Mutare as well as few service providers implementing youth empowerment and development programmes. There is a strong feeling by young people in Mutare that a lot was desired to be done so as to promote integrated sustainable development at grassroots level and enable them to fully and positively participate and contribute to development in their respective areas.
In its work the organisation has already started implementing two projects on behavior change, i.e. Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights and violence against women and girls. YICET’s work also involves activities centered on conflict transformation and resolution as well as promoting all aspects of democracy in Zimbabwe
Wedza Residence Development Initiative Trust (WERDIT) is a registered community based organization (MA 001507/2016) which seeks to work with the residents of Wedza to foster participatory democracy and development. The organisation has vibrant structures in 26 wards of Wedza and enjoys a cordial relationship with Wedza Rural District Council promoting citizen participation in community development in the area.
PYD is a non-partisan and non discriminatory organization that was formed to act as a platform, network and bridge for the youth in all spheres of life to articulate issues affecting them, particularly issues relating to sustainable development, good governance and the rule of law in Zimbabwe. The organisation is non-profit making and legally registered as a Trust in October 2008, MA 984/2008. PYD operates in Chipinge.
Gwanda Community Economic Justice Development Trust is an organization that was established by a group of concerned members of Gwanda community, motivated by the idea that the realization of good government policy is through community participation and involvement. And no good governance and democracy can be achieved in any society and the full transformation without the community. The organisation seeks to inspire and support the communities to getting government to responding to the voices of the poor and marginalized people in their decision making and resources allocation. GCEJDT’s main thrust is to see community participation in governance, policy formation and help community to influence community growth and development.
