Youth for innovation Trust is a youth led national association that seeks to engender consciousness among young people against discrimination on the basis of gender and age through innovative solutions that uplift livelihoods for active global citizenship. Since its formation, the organization conducted several community building initiatives to foster economic, social and political empowerment of young people through social innovation. The organization’s motto is “Forging ahead, creating opportunities”
Women Development Association in Zimbabwe Trust is a non-profit citizen sector organization that was established to cherish the rights of women despite social and economic standing. It seeks to amplify the voice of women both in social and political spheres and believes that societies flourish when all voices are heard and when all opinions are considered. Since its establishment WODAZ has contributed to the opening up, expansion and accessibility of space for women participation in decision making and developmental issues. It has managed to encourage women to actively and effectively participate in political processes so as to increase women voice in political decision making spheres. It has engaged community leaders on issues affecting women and girls effective participation on governance issues.
Hands of Hope Trust (HoHT) is a community based organization based in Zvishavane. It was established in 2011 and legally registered in accordance with Zimbabwean laws in 2016. The organization’s focus is to build capacities, impart life-skills and provide networking platforms for the girl child and vulnerable groups of women (single mothers, widows, those living with disabilities and chronic conditions). HoHT operates in Zvishavane, Gweru Urban and Chirumanzu South.
Community Youth Development Trust (CYDT) is a youth organization that was established by a group of concerned young people motivated by the idea that young people are the custodians of good governance and democracy in any society, and that their full participation can help transform local communities as far as development is concerned. The organisation was formed in 2012 and officially registered in 2015 and it operates in Matabeleland South.
Over the years, Zimbabwe has witnessed numerous economic and governance challenges that have led to the erosion of most of the community socio-economic safety nets thereby compounding the myriad of vulnerability amongst most citizens. This point to the need for preventative long lasting solutions that will ensure the socio economic development of the marginalized grass roots in Zimbabwe. This was the philosophy behind the establishment of Rural Enterprise Trust of Zimbabwe (RETZ); to uphold marginalized communities by supporting freedoms through economic and enterprise development initiatives that have a bearing on their wellbeing whilst investing and advocating for an enabling environment and the protection of our planet.
