Local civil society organisations, Rural Enterprise Trust of Zimbabwe (RETZ) and the Zimbabwe Civil Society Organizations Scaling Up Nutrition Alliance (ZCSOSUNA) have engaged child parliamentarians in Bindura, Mashonaland Central Province in a drive to advocate for nutrition-friendly budgets in the coming 2018 National Budget formulation process.
Women in Vumbachikwe Mine in ward 21, Gwanda, Matebeleland South have challenged the mine authorities to relook into their employment strategy which closes out women, asking for equal employment so that they can afford to fend for their families as they have full family responsibilities.
In its continued efforts to empower adolescent girls and young women in rural and urban areas, Girls and Women Empowerment Network Trust (GWEN) held its first Her Sports Day tournament in Seke rural. The tournament whose main objectives was to promote young women participation in community development and decision making was aimed at providing a safe space for young women interaction.

Recreation and general entertainment is often ignored but it plays a critical role in the socialization and everyday living of any person. After some household chores and day today responsibilities, the rural youth in Zimbabwe is found with nothing else meaningful to do or draw their attention, a situation that has been worrying many young people living in rural and farming areas.
Women Development Association Zimbabwe (WoDAZ) held a field day at Sitez Ward 8 under the Asithuthukeni Goat Project Pass on Activity funded by the U.S Embassy under the Special Self Help Program is aimed at economically empowering women and girls.
