The recent 100% fees hike for Medical Students by the University of Zimbabwe has caused uproar among those directly and indirectly affected. The students who were paying $700 where made to pay $1500. The fees are not only high but a violation of section 75 of the Zimbabwean Constitution which among other things provides for basic State funded education. Concerned Zimbabweans took to social media to expose the university authorities and government’s callousness in dealing with the protesting students.
