Parliamentarians from both the ruling party Zanu Pf and the opposition parties welcomed the resent political developments that saw the former President Robert Mugabe resigning after 37 years of ruling and Emmerson Mnangagwa taking over as President. Participation in the electoral cycle is one of the fundamental ways in which grassroots communities can contribute towards governance and the development of the nation. Youth participation in peace building and reconciliation is very vital towards national development. Unequal distribution of resources, politics of patronage and government failure to provide basic social services are some of the factors compromising the attainment of peace within Zimbabwean communities. The role of young people in preserving peace and co-existence is very critical at this point in time when the country is currently transiting from the 27 year rule of Robert Mugabe. Organizing for Zimbabwe Trust spoke to young peace builders from Epworth and Domboshava to hear their concerns and how they are working to address these challenges....
