Former Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe finally resigned yesterday, ending his 37-year iron fist rule of the country Zimbabwe’s parliamentarians erupted in wild celebrations as the announcement was made that Mugabe had resigned “with immediate effect”.
Ordinary Zimbabweans in Harare took it to the streets and celebrated the resignation in style with wild cheers and dancing. Mugabe’s rule brought poverty and uncertainty to many Zimbabweans as they struggle to survive in an economically stressed country.
