The sexual exploitation of little girls is on the rise. There have been cases of sexual exploitation of innocent girls in Epworth, Beitbridge, Chitungwiza, Hopley to mention a few places. However, the one which has shocked us all is the one still fresh in our minds involving the nine-year-old little girl.
Every year huge sums of money are transferred out of developing countries illegally. These illicit financial flows strip resources from developing countries that could be used to finance much-needed public services, from security and justice to basic social services such as health, education and infrastructure development. Zimbabwe is on record of having suffered from a weak financial management system that has deprived of the country of its resources and potential to develop.
The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission is set to kick start the much awaited biometric voter registration as the nation warms up to the 2018 harmonised elections. The registration which is the first of its kind in Zimbabwe will see the production of a new voter’s roll, which all along was the bone of contention among the opposition political parties alleging that the Registrar General, Tobaiwa Mudede had tempered with it to allow the ruling party’s successive victories in the election.
Once known as the bread basket for SADC region, Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector has been on the downfall for the past decade. The controversial land reform among other factors has subjected this once lucrative industry into a joke, a profession for the old with young people opting for smart and rather paying jobs.
